TEACHER BIO

Ms. Ruffin has an intense passion for helping students achieve their ultimate goals and desires. In addition to supporting the academic and bar preparation efforts of aspiring lawyers through her teachings at Agape Christian Bar Preparation Services, Inc., Ms. Ruffin has mentored high school and college students through Howard University’s Alumni Association and the National Society of Black Engineers mentorship programs. She has served as president and board member of the Capital University Law School African American Alumni Association, where she mentored law students and participated in exam preparation seminars.

As the first person to attend college in her family, Ms. Ruffin understands the unique challenges non-traditional students face in law school. Likewise, she understands the mindset required to overcome such barriers. She thrives on sharing her diverse experiences with students to encourage, motivate and inspire them to live on the edge of their greatest potential. As a result of her vast experience, Ms. Ruffin has a polished and professional approach to teaching complex matters. She is an excellent and desirable instructor for non-traditional and first-generation law students.

Before entering the field of law, she worked as a chemical engineer for Abbott Laboratories. Ms. Ruffin graduated magna cum laude from Capital University Law School and was a member of the Capital University Law Review. She also completed an externship as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Judge Algenon Marbley for the Southern District of Ohio. Ms. Ruffin practiced environmental law in Columbus, Ohio where she was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio and later an Associate at Bricker Graydon.

In her spare time, Ms. Ruffin enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
